About Me

As I'm sure you've already gathered, my name is Jess. I am 18 and have been "doll-housing" since I was a lickle wee girl...

I got my first house when I was about 4. It was basically a wooden box split into four rooms with a roof on top, but I loved it. And I believe my Sylvanian family creatures did too, at least I hope they did!

I've moved on from that a little now! Though I have to admit, I have been in the middle of a bit of a dry period as far as miniatures are concerned lately.

I DID have a gorgous Greenleaf - The Harrison, it's a big tudor thing with amazing rooms and all the rest. I had it as a tudor from when I got it. It was a christmas present from my sister (I had seen her building it and nagged and nagged and nagged!). Then after a few years I decided to have some fun.. wa-hey!

It started to become a divine victorian. Red white and blue with loads of fancy trims and posts and all the rest. Unfortuantely, we moved to Australia and back again. And on the return journey we couldn't bring my house back :-( So it got sold.. NOOOOOOO.

So now I have one house, which my mum found at a car boot sale of all places. It's fairly simple, but it's being turned into something I have wanted to do for ages - the Stars & Stripes house. It's an ongoing job and it's taking a while to find all the bits and bobs, especially being in England so I don't really get much in the way of american themed miniatures.

I also want a duracraft at some point. I'm not entirely decided on which yet, but I love them, and I have so many gorgeous bits and pieces tucked away in boxes just crying out for a home.. I guess I'll have to start saving and succumb one day.

I now have another thing I have been dreaming about for a matter of weeks. I was in holiday in the USA with my boyfriend who is over there with work. We were out one day driving through Frankenmuth in MI. And what should I spy in a big glass display cabinet on the side of a shop but.. a doll's house! Of course the eyes went all big and desperate and I was swan-necking out the car window to see if it was actually a dolls house shop.. and yes it was. So here is me screaming "It's a doll's house shop!! Stop! Stop! We have to go back, pleeeeeasssssseeeeee can we go back".

And it was there I found the Real Good Toys Lighthouse. Fell in love with it at first site but was unfortunately too poor to be able to buy it :-(

But what should that very very very nice, sweet, generous, perfect boyfriend bring back for me for my birthday? The lighthouse kit! :-) It's currently sitting in pieces in it's box in the front room waiting for me to get glue and start work. Hey! I only got it a few days ago! lol.

Apart from the houses I do other stuff. I am doing a textiles & fashion course at college - nice and arty farty! It's something I have wanted to so do for ages and I'm really enjoying it. I am also (obviously) a bit of a website nut.

I also do Irish dancing, like the stuff in Riverdance, only I do the traditional type that Riverdance has been derived from. I absolutely love it, and I hope to do well this year. If you'd like to know more about Irish dancing, feel free to check out my other site, Ireland's Dance.

Anyways, I will leave it at that before you start to get really bored of me!
